Milestones & Timelines
Milestones are the heartbeat of Zynclog. They are the individual deliverables, tasks, or updates that make up a Project.
Status Types
Every milestone has three simple states:
- Pending: Planned, but not started.
- In Progress: You are actively working on this right now.
- Completed: The work is done and ready for the client to see.
Updating Milestones
When you update a milestone's status, two things happen instantly:
- The Client Timeline Updates: If you have shared a read-only link with your client, their view updates in real-time.
- The Audit Trail is Logged: The system permanently records exactly when the milestone was completed. This is crucial if a client ever asks, "When did you finish the database migration?"
Adding Notes to Milestones
Sometimes a status isn't enough. You can add Update Notes to a milestone to give your client context.
- Example: If a milestone is "Set up Stripe," your note might be: "Waiting on the client to provide the API keys before we can mark this complete."
